Peaceful Forest (Autumn)

The loud crunching of fallen leaves echoed through the forest as someone new entered. The animals in the surrounding area perked their ears in fear; newcomers were never a good sign for the forest. A cool, shallow breeze blew between the bare trees in the colorful forest; signaling the start of a new season. The leaves scattered around in circles, causing their own mischief before falling back to the ground again. Water trickled down a narrow, fast flowing stream, growing bigger as it went. The air was damp and smelt fresh like morning dew from the mountains. Rotting logs and stumps were holding signs of life; nurturing small creatures with shelter. The sounds of birds cheerfully chirping away in the distance was oddly soothing and showed no signs of disturbance to the other animals. A few  meters away, a group of deer stood still, grazing in the fading meadow. Some were looking out for signs of danger and others ate away before everything would disappear. The sweet smell of the grass was delightful and brought an unperturbed aurora to everything around it. The sun poked through shrubs and ferns, bringing light to the animals living within it. An abandoned trail sat in the forest, having woven itself through the wildlife all those years ago, not being able to gain recognition anymore. The wooden planks let out moans as critters scurried across, looking for a place to bury their belongings. The forest is a quiet, enjoyable place for all those who live in it and will always be home to those who want it.
